What is Dungeon Delvers?
Family Fun Hobbies’ Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Delvers is a series of in-store mini-campaigns played out at the rate of one encounter per session. Each week, your character will earn Experience Points for various accomplishments made in the game, whether through defeating monsters, overcoming traps, or completing missions. Experience Points allow you the ability to increase the capabilities of your player as you travel throughout the various adventures. Dungeon Delvers campaigns rotate on an approximately monthly basis, giving you the opportunity to try new adventure settings multiple times per year!
What Do I Need to Play?
Each Dungeon Delvers season is a new mini-campaign experience. You can jump in anytime and you will also have the option to create your own character.
Does it Cost Anything to Play?
Entry for players is $5.00 each. You can pre-register for a seat beginning on the Monday prior. This can be done by stopping in the store, or calling us and paying by Credit Card. In addition, should you make a purchase of $10.00 or more on Wednesday, we will credit the $5.00 entry fee towards your purchase.
Dungeon Masters do not pay an Entry Fee.
Do I need to bring a character with me?
We are currently using the the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules. We were privileged to be one of the first stores allowed to beta test the game two and a half years ago, so all of our Dungeon Masters are well versed in its rules. It is a smooth and simple rules system, and we have people on hand who can assist you in quickly creating your own player character.
What Do I Need to DM?
If you wish to be a Dungeon Master, the first thing that has to happen is we need to see you here as a player on a fairly regular basis. We want to know you, and see how well you interact with others. This is a flexible time frame with no true measure of exactly what we are looking for… call it a gut feeling. Second, we must have the need for another Dungeon Master. We only have four tables each week, and most of our Dungeon Masters have been with us for months, if not years, but having back-up people is always useful. Finally, you must be willing to be submitted to a background check, per Wizards of the Coast regulations. We use the National Sex Offender Registry website. Assuming you pass, you would be clear to run games at Family Fun Hobbies. We will have the adventures you will be running, and get them to you in a timely manner so you can prepare to run creative and fun weekly sessions. Preparing for a game couldn’t be easier; simply read the background material and prep the encounter for that week!
Please Note: This is a Wizards of the Coast Sanctioned Event. If you do not have a DCI Membership, we will sign you up. There is no cost at all (or any hidden fees) to being a DCI Member.
